Fennec Fox adaptations

Fennec fox ( Vulpes zerda) - how the body structures and body systems are adapted to their environments - The fennec fox has large ears and they are around 6 inches long and this helps to dissipate excess body heat when the days are really hot. Thick fur helps to insulate them from the nights because they can be cold, the sand coloured fur reflects heat and this is good for camouflage and also it has thick fur on it’s feat which helps it to walk on hot grounds because it will be hot on the sand, and the extra fur also affords them good traction on the loose sand. The fennec fox is a carnivore and able to survive with out free water and this is because the fennec fox adapted by making sure the kidneys are adapted to restrict water loss and burrowing can cause formation of dew and it can be consumed and they also get moisture from food that they eat. They are nocturnal habits help them to deal with the heat of the desert. They have long thick hair that keeps them warm during the night and protects them from the sun during the day time, the feet also have fur on them which helps against hot sand and are also very useful for digging for underground dens. They’ve developed the ability to go for long periods without water. They live in small communities. The fennec fox is native to north africa, they inhabit the sandy sahara desert.
